Mother, 3 children involved in hit & run

PHOENIX (AP) - A driver fled after a deadly hit & run accident Tuesday night in west Phoenix.

A mother and 2 of her three kids were critically injured after being struck by a car.

Authorities say a third child was killed.

The Phoenix Fire Department said a mother was pushing a stroller and walking with her two kids across 43rd Avenue near Virginia Avenue when all 4 of them were struck by a car. They were not in a crosswalk.

The 25-year-old woman, a 4-month-old girl, and a 3-year-old girl are in the hospital with serious injuries.

A 4-year-old girl died at the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and fled the scene. Police describe the suspectÂ’s vehicle as maroon and possibly a Dodge Stratus.
