Thought you knew the right way to cheer?

Arizona Western Cheerleading Stunt & Jump Clinic takes place first weekend in June

Yuma, AZ -- (May 27, 2010) -- The AWC Matadors expanded their Spirit Team the past two years from 8 people to nearly 30, and now they're looking to teach some future Matador Cheer & Dance Team members how to do it the right way!  AWC Head Cheer Coach Tiffany Minnick announced today that the school will hold the first-ever Arizona Western Cheerleading Stunt & Jump Clinic next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 5th & 6th.

Any boys and girls that are about to enter grades 1 through 9 can participate in the two-day clinic, which runs from 9 until noon both days.  You don't have to have previous cheering or stunting experience, and whether you do or not, they'll be teaching all levels.  'They', by the way, refers to Minnick, her assistant Rachel Murphy, and several members of the current Matador Spirit Team.  It costs $40 to be part of the clinic, and you can download a registration form by going to the Spirit Team on the Matador Athletics website.
