(AP) - Jon Leuer scored a career-high 23 points, Ed Davis added 21 points and 12 rebounds, and the Memphis Grizzlies made the best of a makeshift lineup to defeat the Phoenix Suns 110-91 last night. Leuer and Davis got plenty of playing time because of injuries to starters Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. Marcus Morris led the Suns with 18 points.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Aaron Gordon scored 19 points, Nick Johnson and Brandon Ashley added 18 each and No. 2 Arizona beat Texas Tech 79-58 last night in the Wildcats' first game since beating Duke for the NIT Season Tip-off championship. The Wildcats (8-0) were up by as many as 23 points in the second half.
PHOENIX (AP) - Demetrius Walker scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as Grand Canyon avoided an upset and defeated NAIA Vanguard 82-73 last night. Walker surpasses his previous career-best of 21 points and eight rebounds. Killian Larson added 13 points and 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double this season. Grand Canyon is 5-3.
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Mike Ribeiro and Mikkel Boedker each had a goal and two assists as the Phoenix Coyotes started off a four-game road trip with a 6-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers last night. Radim Vrbata, Shane Doan, Keith Yandle and David Moss also scored for the Coyotes, who had lost four of their previous five games. David Perron scored twice for the Oilers, who dropped to 3-9-0 on home ice this season.
