Dr. Aiello grew up in Detroit, Michigan and received his B.A. in Chinese language and literature and his MD degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After completing both an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Dr. Aiello finished a Residency in Ophthalmology at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Aiello is board certified in both Internal medicine and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Aiello is very active in the Air Force and the Arizona Air National Guard. He holds the rank of Colonel. He is a Senior Flight Surgeon and the State Air Surgeon for the Arizona Air National Guard.
He is an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology; a clinical instructor for the Midwestern School of Osteopathic Medicine in Phoenix Arizona and is an active member in several medical and military societies.
Besides caring for patients at the Aiello Eye Institute, Dr. Aiello performs disability compensation exams for military veterans at the VA hospital in Phoenix Arizona.
Dr. Aiello has lived in Arizona since 1992 and is regarded as one of the state's leading eye surgeons. He specializes in cataract surgery and general ophthalmology and has performed more than 10,000 surgeries.
Dr. Aiello's good nature, compassion and conservative practice style has earned him the respect and loyalty of both his colleagues and patients throughout his career.
Dr. Aiello moved to Yuma, Arizona in order to open his own private practice in February of 2009 and is dedicated to providing high quality, comprehensive medical-surgical eye care to his patients utilizing the finest and most contemporary technology available.
