Meteorologist

KSWT News 13 is looking for a full-time meteorologist.  KSWT has built a strong following on its weather brand and would like to continue strengthening our position in the Yuma/El Centro market as the weather authority.  We are looking for someone who can explain weather clearly to our viewers, but also add personality and urgency to our newscasts.  Ideal candidate speaks fluent Spanish. This position will require reporting and web responsibilities, as well.

Other RESPONSIBILITES and QUALIFICATIONS include:

  • MUST LOVE DOGS!!  KSWT News 13 has "Radar the Weather Dog".He is a humane society rescue mutt that is incorporated in school visits, station tours, and daily weather forecasts. 
  • Ability to analyze and under meteorological data to produce a forecast driven show
  • Production of weather graphics to support the forecast
  • Clear communication of the forecast
  • Effective management of time and workload
  • Degree in meteorology or equivalent
  • Web updates for news and weather on KSWT.com and various social networking sites.
  • Must be a self-starter, hard worker, have a great attitude, be versatile and efficient.
