John Patrick

John Patrick is the latest addition to the KSWT-TV news team. John was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona so the Desert Southwest heat is nothing new to him. He has gained a B.S. in Meteorology/Climatology from the Geographical Sciences department at Arizona State University. After earning his degree in May of 2010 he spent his summer interning at a news station in Sioux Falls, SD. There he learned all about weather broadcasting from a summer filled with severe weather including broken rainfall records, tornadoes, and even witnessing the largest hail stone ever recorded.

John is excited to begin his professional career in his home state and ready to give the most accurate forecast to KSWT's viewer. After all, this is where he fell in love with the weather thanks to the powerful summer monsoon season.

John's first passion is the weather; however he does have an array of other activities he enjoys. He is a big fan of sports and grew up playing baseball throughout high school. On his days off you can find him doing anything from playing football to snowboarding when the season is right. If he is doing anything outdoors you can be sure that he is a happy man.
