KSWT News 13  - Yuma/El Centro  is accepting applications for News Director to lead a team of young energetic journalists.   KSWT is a CBS affiliate with the #1 -  10pm news.   KSWT also produces Spanish news cut-ins on our Estrella TV secondary channel.   The successful candidate will be a strong leader, teacher and "idea person."  This position requires a lot of hands-on involvement.   The News Director is responsible for enterprise story generation,  guiding and training of producers, anchors, photographers and reporters and preparation of all daily news casts.  The News Director will also develop strategy and create and execute plans to expand the number of local newscasts and lead the transition of the station toward HD news.    This position requires excellent written and oral skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all departments.   Candidates are required to have a Bachelor's and a minimum of 7 years professional TV experience.    A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug test are mandatory.     Ability to speak and write Spanish is helpful but not required.
