The suspect in a series of shootings around Yuma County is dead, according to Yuma Police.
Yuma Police identified the shooter as 73 year old Carey Hal Dyess, who was later found dead due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the area of Blaisdell and Highway 95.
Earlier this morning, the Yuma Police and the Yuma County Sheriff's Office began an investigation on the shooting at the 300 block South of 2nd Avenue.
One of the victims from this mornings shooting was Attorney Jerrold Shelley.
Another victim was shot in the head and was flown to the Phoenix Hospital in critical condition. The victim is known to be friends with the suspect's ex-wife.
Other shootings in the Wellton area were also being investigated by Yuma County Sheriff's and were linked together with the Yuma shootings.
Yuma County Courthouse and Schools in the area including Roosevelt School, Fourth Avenue Junior High, Post building and Yuma High were placed in lock down earlier today but are now open.
Names of the victims have not been released at this time.
