SAN DIEGO (AP) - Pac-12 South Division champion Arizona State and Texas Tech have accepted invitations to play in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30 at Qualcomm Stadium. It will be the fourth appearance for Arizona State (10-3) and the second appearance for Texas Tech (7-5). Arizona State lost to Stanford 38-14 in the Pac-12 championship game Saturday night.
SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Two of the nation's top running backs will square off Dec. 31 when Arizona faces Boston College in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl. Boston College's Andre Williams leads all Football Bowl Subdivision players with 2,102 yards rushing this season. Arizona's Ka'Deem Carey has rushed for 1,716 yards and ranks second nationally with 156 yards rushing per game. Both teams have 7-5 records.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - No. 6 Baylor has completed its turnaround with a trip to the Fiesta Bowl against No. 15 Central Florida. Once the perennial patsies of the Big 12, the Bears (11-1) won their first conference title since 1980 by knocking off Texas on Saturday. Central Florida (11-1) received the American Athletic Conference's automatic BCS bid.
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Carson Palmer completed 27 of 32 passes, 12 of them to Larry Fitzgerald, and the Arizona Cardinals ended an eight-game losing streak against NFC West foes by beating the St. Louis Rams 30-10 yesterday. The Cardinals (8-5) won for the fifth time in six games. The Cardinals lost rookie safety Tyrann Mathieu in the third quarter with a left knee injury.
