Police arrest a teen in connection to burglary and vandalism of a Blythe church. It happened over the weekend at the First Southern Baptist Church located at 350 N. Palm, according to police.

Through BPD's investigation, they learned 19-year old Christopher Hernandez was involved. They say he admitted to taking part in the crime and recovered stolen items at his home.

Hernandez was arrested within an hour of the reported burglary and later booked into the Blythe jail for burglary and vandalism to a church and possession of stolen property.

On Sunday, a church official setting up for mass noticed someone had broken into the church through a window, according to Police. They say nearly $1,000 worth of equipment was taken and about $1,800 worth of damage was done to the furniture and walls, after the suspects poured paint on them.

Police say two other suspects are involved and are still on the loose. They're asking for the publics help in identifying them.
