LOS ANGELES, Calif. - A study released earlier this week says the Imperial Valley has the highest childhood obesity rate in the state of California.
The study, conducted by University of California Los Angeles Center for Health Policy Research and the California Center for Public Health Advocacy, looked at kids in grade school. Students in the fifth, seventh and, ninth grade came up on top.
The results show obesity rates among students in these particular grades in each county:
Imperial County- 46.9 percent
Riverside County- 38.2 percent
San Diego County- 34.5 percent
Marin County- 25 percent
