YUMA, Ariz. - The Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma held a ceremony this morning to unveil the construction progress for the Joint Fighter F-35 hangar.
Commanding officers held a ceremony on site as workers continued the construction of the hangar for the air craft.
They signed the highest piece of steel that will hold the F-35.
Officials say this symbolizes the dedication of both the government and contractors as they continue to work to finish this project.
"We're on a very tight timeline to coincide with the first delivery aircraft here in Yuma. What would normally take 18 months to built, we're on track to built a hangar in 10 months," said mike Williamson, Director for the Marine Corps Installations West.
The F-35 hangar is set to be completed by March 16th.
