Yuma, AZ -- A popular nightclub's doors close just hours after hundreds rang in the New Year right inside.

The Top of The Kress's doors have closed. As of early Sunday morning, private security guards will now be patrolling the building 24 hours a day until further notice.

The Patrol Security Guard's News 13 spoke with say they were sent by AEA Credit Union.  The guards say they first reported to duty at 2:00AM MTN time on Sunday morning. At about the time party goers were ending their night of celebrations for the start of the New Year.

Shortly after 3:00PM Sunday, Yuma Police say they provided Civil Standby services to Top of The Kress personnel who came to take out belongings from the club.  However its not known exactly what they took.

News 13 tried to get a hold of AEA Credit Union for further details but no one was available for comment as of Sunday afternoon.

At this time it is not known how long Top of The Kress will be closed, but guards say they will be on-site around the clock.

The closing comes after a U.S. Bankruptcy Court threw out the Chapter 11 case filed by Top of the Kress Owner, Frank Ruiz.
