CALEXICO, Calif. - A 19-year old Mexican national is dead after drowning in the All-American Canal.
Officials say he was part of a group trying to cross into the U.S. using a raft.
However, the raft reportedly collapsed causing the group to fall into the water.
The teen was pulled from the water by others in the group. Border Patrol agents were flagged down and led to an area east of Calexico.
Emergency personnel were called out but the 19-year old was pronounced dead at the scene.
His identity has not been released until family is notified.
He is the first drowning victim in the All-American Canal this year.
