A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of fueling station improvements at the Gadsden Elementary School District.
The event was held Tuesday morning at the transportation shop.
The district added two new fuel tanks to increase the quantity of fuel on hand and curb costs.
Previously the school district was delivered 1,000 gallons of regular gas and 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel twice a week for their vehicles.
With the new tanks, the district will now have 5,000 gallons of regular gas and 6,000 gallons of diesel fuel delivered once a week.
The cost of the project is expected to be recovered in approximately 8 months. The districts saving will be utilized to offset some of the other budget costs.
