Yuma County unemployment rates continue to drop - | News for Yuma, Imperial Valley, El Centro, AZ & CA

YUMA, Ariz. - Unemployment rates continue to drop in the desert southwest.

According to the latest Arizona employment report by the Department of Administration, Yuma County's unemployment rate was 23.1 percent last month.

That's the lowest it's been since February of last year when unemployment was just above 21 percent.

Economic experts say was in due part to the hiring of seasonal workers for the holidays and the arrival of winter visitors.
