Calexico, CA-- Smugglers in Calexico use a local energy company logo in an attempt to smuggle drugs.

El Centro Sector Border Patrol says they disrupted a criminal operation that used a Ford F-150 pick-up truck disguised as an Imperial Irrigation District vehicle to smuggle marijuana.

Border Patrol says it happened at around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, when agents say they saw two subjects launch a raft with several bundles of drugs into the All-American Canal.

Authorities say the pick-up truck approached the area and the subjects started to load the bundles into the truck.  Once loaded, the two subjects returned to Mexico and the truck drove away.

A subsequent stop on the pick-up truck found 15 bundles of marijuana totaling more than 125 pounds. The estimated street of the drugs is $102,936.00

The 20-year old male driver was taken into Border Patrol custody.

The driver, truck, and drugs have been turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
