MEXICALI, Mex. - Authorities take down a man connected to a major drug lord in the Desert Southwest.
Mexicali Police have arrested a man who allegedly works for the infamous drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.
Police say Ricardo Rosales Ramirez, who goes by the nick name of "El Nene," was in charge of smuggling fire arms and explosives.
They say Ramirez used to sell ammunition that was exclusive to the Mexican military.
The 25-year-old was captured by authorities while he was driving down a road near the Mexicali-Calexico border.
He has been transported to Mexico City where officials continue to investigate him.
