Border Patrol seizes drugs near Salton City

SALTON CITY, CA - Eleven pounds of meth worth an estimated $360,000 is seized at the U.S. border checkpoint near Salton City.

Agents say a white Nissan got the attention of a drug sniffing dogs Wednesday night.

The car was then scanned by a large scale imaging system. That's when agents discovered six packages of meth inside a hidden compartment.

The driver, a 21-year-old U.S. citizen male, was placed under arrest.

He was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the vehicle and narcotics.
