Yuma border patrol makes multiple drug busts worth more than $1 million

YUMA, AZ - Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol seized 70 pounds of cocaine and a half ton of marijuana with a combined value of more than $1.1 million at the Blythe checkpoint. Agents working Highway 78 pulled over a Ford pickup truck. 

More than $600,000 worth of cocaine was found hidden in a spare tire.

Wellton station agents patrolling near Hyder, Ariz., stopped what appeared to be a utility work truck on a rural road after noticing a driver's suspicious behavior.

Agents searched the truck and found 251 packages of marijuana in the vehicle's gas tank.

In another incident, Wellton station agents patrolling west of Gila Bend discovered a group of six people in the desert carrying backpacks filled with marijuana.

Agents say they found 263 pounds of marijuana worth more than $100,000. 

Arrests were made in all cases.
