YUMA, AZ - A local hospital is partnering up with medical officials in Phoenix to open a pediatric center.

Phoenix Children's Hospital will open a new location at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

Medical doctors from both hospitals met today to discuss the specialty clinic.

It will be staffed with pediatric subspecialists.

The new clinic aims to provide the highest level of specialty care in the community, especially to families who had to travel to Phoenix to seek the required medical attention.

According to medical officials, the clinic offers expert pediatric care.

Hospital officials say they expect more than 1,000 patient visits in Yuma this year.
