Brawley, California -
BRAWLEY, CA - A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a 13-year-old teen.
Brawley Police say they received a call Friday morning of an attempted kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy near Del Rio School on the 1500 bock of I Street in Brawley.
The teen told police he was walking to school when 40-year-old Armando Meraz tried to grab him and made sexually explicit comments.
The victim was able to get away from Meraz and ran to school where he told school officials of the incident.
Police were able to locate Meraz a few blocks away.
Meraz has been arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail.
