
CALIPATRIA, CA - A woman paying a visit to an inmate at Calipatria State Prison finds herself behind bars.
Saturday Lynnetta Ellison was visiting an inmate when they were seen attempting to smuggle 273 grams of Marijuana and 13 grams of heroin/opiates into the institution, according to officials at the Calipatria State Prison. Ellison then admitted to staff that she had already passed one bindle to the inmate.
The prisoner Ellison was visiting was then placed on contraband watch and Ellison was arrested by Calipatria officers and booked into the Imperial County Jail.
Prison Officials say surveillance video of the incident revealed that the inmate who received the drugs then passed it on to another inmate.The first inmate was then removed from contraband watch and both inmates were moved to administrative segregation.
