APS increases San Luis substation capacity

SAN LUIS, AZ - Arizona Public Service says they will be increasing the capacity of a substation in San Luis.

This new project aims to reduce the chances and length of power outages.

However, APS officials say outages are inevitable in severe weather conditions.

The substation is located near Avenue F and Juan Sanchez Blvd.

Officials say San Luis is one of the cities with the highest demand for power and will only keep increasing.

The project is set to be in service in June.
