IMPERIAL, CA - One local university is being forced to make cuts just before the fiscal year ends.

Imperial Valley College Board Officials will have to make a $1 million in budget cuts by June 30, 2012.

School officials say they anticipated the cuts but only budgeted for some of it.

They say as property tax collections have been decreasing, more students have been qualifying for fee waivers, which throws off the school's budget.

School officials say they have no other choice but to make more cuts. They have created a committee who's currently working on where the cuts should me made.

They hope to have an update by this Saturday.
