Phoenix, AZ- The attorney for a woman convicted of defrauding a local credit union has filed a request for a mistrial.
News 13 has obtained a motion recently filed by Mark Paige on behalf of Rhonda Liddle.
Mrs. Liddle was found guilty on 36 of a 54 count indictment including conspiracy, fraud and money laundering against AEA Federal Credit Union on February 10, 2012.
Her husband Bill, the former Vice President of Business Lending for AEA, was found guilty on all 54 counts.
The motion filed last week states remarks in the government's rebuttal closing arguments about a conversation Rhonda had with an FBI agent in November 2010 were misleading.
If a mistrial is warranted on the grounds of double jeopardy by the judge, The Liddle's would get a new trial because they were co-defendants in this case.
