EL CENTRO, CA – El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents save a man lost in the mountains Sunday.

At 11 A.M. agents were alerted by the Imperial County Sheriff's office that a male called 911and reported he was lost.

After a 4 hour extensive search of the mountain terrain agents located a 35-year-old Mexican male. The man stated he had been left behind by his group and found himself lost.

Border patrol says its common smugglers operate with little concern for the lives of the illegal immigrants they attempt to guide across the U.S. Mexico border.

The man was treated and transported to the El Centro station for processing.
