IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA - Interstate 8 is now back open from Ocotillo in Imperial County to 6 miles east of Alpine in San Diego County after it was closed due to snow. Motorists are being escorted by Highway Patrol until conditions improve.
Southern California Edison says high winds knocked down power lines. Overall, nearly 150,000 were left in the dark at times since the storm began Saturday but most outages were brief. The storm dumped more than two feet of snow in the mountains and some schools are closed Monday in San Bernardino and San Diego counties.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says eastbound Interstate 40 opened back up just after noon.
