
PHOENIX, AZ - Governor Jan Brewer announced today the Grand Canyon state is ranked 3rd in the nation in solar system installation.
The ranking comes from the 2011 U.S. Solar Market Insight Report from the Solar Energy Industries Association.
According to the report, between 2010 and 2011 Arizona's energy production jumped from 63 to 273 megawatts, which is a 333% rate of growth. The state now trails only California and New Jersey.
Since 2010 nine renewable energy companies have located or expanded operations in Arizona creating more than 2,000 jobs.
