YUMA, AZ - A Yuma judge is taken off a high-profile case.
KSWT News 13 has learned that Yuma County Superior Court Judge Mark Wayne Reeves will be moved to Juvenile Court, April 1st. Presiding Superior Court Judge John Nelson's office says Judge Reeves has also been taken off the Preston Strong case.
Strong is on-trial for the 2007 murder of Yuma doctor Satinder Gill. The Strong case will now be heard by Judge Nelson.
Judge Nelson's office couldn't comment on what prompted him to move Judge Reeves to Juvenile Court.
Judge Nelson's office says the decision a presiding judge makes on judicial moves like JUDGE Reeves moving to Juvenile Court is one he can make at any time and on a regular basis.
