Brush fire scorches 150+ acres

WINTERHAVEN, CA- The Imperial County Sheriff's Office says more than 150 acres have been charred in an area east of the San Pasqual Schools.

They say it started around 3:30 p.m. south of Arnold Road and just east of Ironwood Drive.

ICSO says 4 homes in the cul-de-sac in the south end of Ironwood Terrace have been evacuated as a safety precaution.

They say the fire is moving towards the southwest, which is good news because there is a lot of open land in that direction.

ICSO says no structures are endangered by the fire.

They say there is no evidence of arson at this point and the fire will  be investigated.

Several agencies are working to the battle the fire including Winterhaven Fire Department, Imperial County Fire Department, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Fire Department.

We're told the fire is contained.
