MEDFORD, ORE- A former Yuma Marine is behind bars accused of killing his wife and attempting to hire someone to kill her.

Bourne Huddleston was set to be arraigned on several charges including murder and solicitation for murder in Medford, Oregon Wednesday.

However a judge granted a delay after a request by Huddleston's attorney.

On March 23, Huddleston's wife was found dead in their home with a gunshot wound to the head.

Last week, Huddleston was indicted by a grand jury after hearing testimony from several witnesses including a man believed to have been hired by Huddleston 5 months ago to murder his wife, Kristy.

Huddleston admits to police he was home when his 34-year old wife died but says she shot herself, this according to a probable cause affidavit released by Jackson County officials. It also states Huddleston admits to washing his hands and Kristy's hands before leaving the scene. He also threw part of a gun out his truck window and hid another part of the weapon in some bushes at their residence.

The medical examiner has ruled Kristy's death a homicide.

Huddleston's rescheduled arraignment will be in two weeks.
