Border Patrol agents seize 191 pounds of marijuana, arrest 7

CALEXICO, CA- Two suspected smugglers and five illegal immigrants have been arrested for transporting more than 190 pounds of marijuana across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Border Patrol officials says agents from the Calexico station detected the group swimming north across the All American Canal Monday afternoon around 4:30.

They say the group exited the water and were carrying 4 large bundles on their backs.

Agents then watched them load the bundles into a car located on Highway 98 near the border.

Agents soon caught up with the vehicle and discovered the marijuana, which is valued at more than $150,000.
