Armed robbery suspect appears in Yuma Justice Court

Posted: Updated:

Yuma, AZ-Tariye Shanklin is facing charges after he demanded money from a clerk using a straight edge razor at a convenience store in Yuma.

Police said the incident happened at the Circle K located on 24th Street and 8th Avenue Tuesday night.

Police said earlier that day Shanklin allegedly threw a rock at a manager at the Wyndham hotel.

"Previously there were two separate cases," Judge Gregory Stewart said. "Those cases have now been combined into one."

Shanklin was in Yuma Justice court Thursday afternoon.

The 31-year old faces one felony charge of armed robbery and two misdemeanor charges of theft and assault.

"I said thank you for the ransom," Shanklin said after the judge informed him of his bond.

Shanklin's bond is at 150,000 dollars and is expected to be back in court next week.
