Border Patrol agents seize nearly $260,000 in narcotics

Five pounds of methamphetamine seized

Three pounds of heroin seized

Blue Chevy pick-up truck seized

WESTMORLAND, CA- El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents seize $259,000 worth of heroin and methamphetamine.

A Border Patrol Canine Team assigned to the Indio Station were alerted to a blue Chevy pick-up truck Wednesday afternoon at the Highway 86 checkpoint near Westmorland.

Agents then discovered a brick shaped package contained with heroin and a bag filled with meth in the trucks engine battery.

The male driver of the pick-up was arrested and turned over to the DEA along with the truck and narcotics.
