YUMA, AZ - A local car club raises thousands of dollars to help a border patrol agent's family after he died from cancer.

The New Class Car Club held a fundraiser today at Eagles Halls in Yuma to honor Victor Martinez, his loving wife and three children.

The Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent died of esophageal cancer after being diagnosed last August.

After under going several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation Martinez was unable to work taking a financial toll on his family.

The fundraiser was held to provide financial help to the Martinez family.

"It's nice to see so much people that we don't even know but they knew my husband," said Helia Martinez, Victor's widow. "I know that this is going to create a great impact on my children to follow his example," she said.

The car club raffled off many items including a TV, an iPad and pistols.

They were able to raise more than $25,000.
