Interstate 8 sign up in honor of Slain Border agent

IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA- Drivers on Interstate 8 will be reminded of fallen Border Patrol agent Robert W. Rosa's Junior.

A large green road sign with his name on it has been revealed between San Diego and Imperial Counties.

The legislation to rename portion of I-8 after Rosa's was proposed last year.

Rosa's was shot July 23, 2009 while he was on duty in Campo.

Prosecutors say five men set out to rob the 30 year old of his night vision goggles and other equipment.

They say the group then held Rosa's at gun point before a struggle ensued and he was shot multiple times.

Four of the five men have been arrested. One has been sentenced, others are awaiting sentencing or trial and one suspect remains at large.
