YUMA, AZ – It's Crime Victim's Rights week in Yuma County. A week designated to reflect and raise awareness about the rights and needs of crime victims.
The annual "Walk a Mile in their Shoes" public outreach event brought supporters out to Ray Smucker Park in Yuma today.
Among them, was Pam messenger smith whose son was killed by a drunken driver in the late 1960's. She says back then there was really no support group to talk to.
The Yuma County Board of supervisors proclaimed the week of April 22 to the 28th as a time to create greater awareness of those who have suffered as victims of crimes.
