LOS ANGELES (AP) - A spring storm is descending on Southern California, bringing a chance of rain, thunder and gusty winds through the day. Here we are seeing clouds in advance of this storm that will bring a chance of some thunder and rain overnight but more likely towards the early morning hours.
Rain has been reported in Ventura County Wednesday morning as the Pacific weather front heads north. The brunt of the storm won't hit until later in the day, however.
The National Weather Service says a half-inch to an inch of rain could fall in most areas around LA, with an inch-and-a-half possible in the mountains. The storm should begin tapering off by evening but showers are possible through early Thursday morning.
Los Angeles can use the rain. The seasonal rain total since last July is more than a half-foot below normal. We welcome it here as well.
