21st Annual U of A Scholarship Dinner

YUMA, AZ - University of Arizona alumni and local students gathered in Yuma for a special gathering Wednesday night.

The 21st annual U of A barbeque scholarships awards dinner was held at the Yuma Civic Center to hand out $45,000 worth in scholarships.

Officials from the U of A Alumni Club here in Yuma say since 1991 they have handed out over $800,000 in scholarships to local students.

They say over a thousand U of A alumni are in Yuma County and they hope to get more people involved in the club.

The clubs goal is to provide scholarships to local students eager to further their education.
