Imperial Solar Shows Off South Project

El Centro, CA - Imperial Solar Energy South will be a 130 Megawatt solar power generating plant that will convert our abundant sunshine into electricity. Thursday local officials and KSWT got a update and bus tour of the facility just starting with the installation phase.

The 946 acre solar plant is under construction and right now the poles for the solar panels are going in place in very precise alignment. The project is employing between 40 and 50 construction people but by fall that number could jump to 250 to 300 constructions jobs.

The company says they plan to hire as many local workers as possible. They say there will be a job fair this summer and more information will be coming out on that in the coming months.
