A Southwest High student arrested after hit and run


EL CENTRO, CA- A local teen is arrested for hitting a teacher with a borrowed car in the Southwest High School parking lot Thursday morning and then leaving the scene.

El Centro Police report they arrived at the school and found an female teacher hurt with arm and back pain.

She was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police gathered information from eye witnesses who identified the driver that took off.

They determined he was a Southwest student but was driving the car of a friend.

The 16 year old is being charged with felony hit and run and driving without a license.  

No further word on how serious the injuries are to the teacher who was hit.
