YUMA, AZ - We're all being reminded that it's a crime to abandon a pet.
Someone left a pit bull at the gates of the Humane Society of Yuma on Friday.
Staff members say they found this chocolate colored pit bull tied to the front gate of the shelter.
They also saw a man in a gold colored car dropping off the dog and tying it to the gate. The man then got in his car and left.
Humane Society officials say the dog had several cuts and infected wounds.
They say the dog is about 2-years-old and is not neutered.
They encourage anyone who is no longer able to care for their dog or cat to drop them off at the shelter during regular business hours.
