Man charged for stealing Marine's vehicle and weapons
WELLTON, AZ- A formal complaint is now out against a suspect accused of stealing a Marine's vehicle and weapons.
Jeffrey Mercado Valbuena was in court Tuesday morning.
He was charged with theft by means of transportation, 2 counts of trafficking and stolen property, 2 counts of misconduct involving weapons, attempted possession of marijuana and attempted possession of drug paraphernalia.
Valbuena was arrested by Wellton police Saturday afternoon.
They say the victim, a San Diego based Marine, called them from deployment in Afghanistan to say Valbuena was in the area with his belongings.
Wellton police say Valbuena admitted to everything while in custody.
During Tuesday's hearing Valbuena's bond was reduced by $20,000.
He will be back in court next week.
