Narcotics Seized at border checkpoint

El Centro, CA- Two U-S citizens are in custody tonight after border patrol agents found drugs and a weapon in the vehicle they were driving during an inspection.

El Centro border patrol agents working at the Interstate 8 checkpoint Directed a grey Scion XD to a secondary inspection after a canine agent alerted them.

Agents found an unregistered loaded 38-caliber revolver under the driver's seat.

They also found five and a half grams of marijuana and cocaine.

Both suspects were turned over to imperial county sherriff's office.
