CALEXICO, CA- U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers arrest a man after they discovered twelve pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the vehicle he was driving.
It happened Tuesday night at the Calexico East Port of Entry.
CBP says a canine alerted to a Nissan Alitma. After searching the vehicle they discovered ten wrapped packages of meth hidden inside the vehicles gas tank.
The meth has an estimated street value of $180,000.
The driver, a 20 year old El Centro resident, was turned over to ICE agents and booked into Imperial County Jail. His names has not been released
CBP seized both the vehicle and narcotic.
