Yuma, AZ - Ruben Ornelas made an initial appearance in court today after authorities nabbed him at the Wal-mart located on the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue in Yuma on Monday.
"He was located and arrested by deputy U.S Marshals and was turned into investigators at the Sheriff's office where he was ultimately booked into the Yuma county jail," says Captain Eben Bratcher with YCSO.
YCSO believes he is involved with the murder of Kendal smith who was brutally beaten with a baseball bat April 18th.
Sheriff Deputies says smith may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. He died 4 days later from those injuries.
Ornelas has 3 charges pending against him, premeditated murder, aggravated assault, and robbery.
Two others are already facing charges related to the death and another is on the run and may be in Mexico.
"It's been a long investigation and a very in depth one. Everyday detectives are uncovering more leads and those leads are turning into arrests. Yesterday we identified 2 more people we are seeking," says Batcher.
Reva Renne Jackson and Jose Fabela Campos are two authorities want to find.
35-year old Jackson is described as 5'2 and 150 pounds and 23 year old Campos is described as 6'1 and 180.
YCSO says they won't stop until they find all the people involved with the murder of Kendal Smith.
"We will continue working on this and we will eventually get everyone. We are still looking for Manuel Bustamante and he is still hiding in Mexico. Mexican authorities are cooperating with us and they are helping us find him," says Captain Bratcher.
Ornelas's bond has been set to $1 million dollars, he is due back in court later this week.
