YUMA, AZ - Crews are busy repairing utility poles in one Yuma neighborhood after a microburst of strong wind caused extensive damage leaving some in the dark.
APS tells us 18 utility poles and live power wires were knocked down this morning leaving 29 homes without power.
At last check, 13 homes are still without power.
The areas affected were County 14th Street between Avenue 1E and Avenue 4E, which is now closed to traffic.
City officials want drivers to avoid this area.
Workers will remain on scene until all poles and wires are replaced, which should be completed by tomorrow morning.
