Garry Frank is KSWT' Chief Meteorologist, leading the SkyWarn Weather team here in the Desert Southwest. Garry is quickly making a reputation for himself for his accuracy and personable forecasts.
Garry remembers being fascinated with weather even as a youngster. He checked out all the books on weather from the library and learned as much as he could as he was growing up. Garry has been a lifelong Tiger fan and chose to go to the University of Missouri to study Meteorology. He graduated in December 2010, and was fortunate enough to obtain an internship with KMBC Chief Meteorologist Bryan Busby in the heart of tornado alley in Kansas City, MO. Garry says they get the severe weather and he knows we have to be ready here as well. He looks forward to making sure you get an accurate forecast each day and the warnings to prepare you in advance. Garry says he loves waking up each day and doing what he loves!
In his spare time, Garry enjoys playing golf and tennis, among many other sports. Watching baseball, soccer, and the PGA Tour are all high on the top of his list whenever he gets a free moment. Exploring the desert landscape is also really exciting to him as everything is so different here from the Midwest!
