Yuma Police identify suspect in Tuesday’s shooting

YUMA, AZ - Police have identified a person of interest in yesterday's shooting that put several schools on lockdown.

Yuma Police have identified Carlos Arellano as a suspect in the shooting in a trailer park on the 1900 block of Walnut Avenue yesterday morning.

They say he was among a group of people involved in the shooting.

YPD has also identified the victim as 47-year-old Guss Kasper.

They say after he was shot... The group fled the scene.

While police looked for suspects, many schools were placed on lockdown, including Harvest Preparatory Academy.

Kasper was shot in the back and taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he remains hospitalized.

Police have not release any other names of the other people involved and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 78-crime to remain anonymous.
